Multinational pharmaceutical company Mallinckrodt is to create 45 highly-skilled jobs in an €45m expansion.
The company is to establish a new manufacturing facility at the College Business and Technology Park in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.
The development will provide 300 jobs during the two-year construction phase and 45 skilled positions once the facility is completed.
The new development is to include a two-storey manufacturing building, a three-storey administration building and additional areas for future investment on a c.4.85 hectare site.
Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals is a multibillion dollar specialty biopharmaceutical company, which has its headquarters in Mulhuddart, Dublin 15, however, it operates from its location in Missouri in the US.
It is a global specialty biopharmaceutical and medical imaging business that develops, manufactures, markets and distributes specialty pharmaceutical products and medical imaging agents. Mallinckrodt was spun-off by Covidien in 2013.
The company, which currently employs more than 120 people at its existing manufacturing site and offices in Dublin, said it has invested more than €165 million in Ireland over the past 22 years.

Mike Morrissey has extensive knowledge of production, quality and engineering, having worked for Dell, Creative Labs and Tyco Safety Products /Sensormatic.
His expansive operational experience is grounded with training as a Six Sigma Black Belt.
As a lead auditor, he is very familiar with compliance and quality standards and has project managed the implementation of the environmental standard ISO14001. He has successfully utilised his project management and team leading skills in implementing numerous cost-saving and process improvement projects.
