€80m investment by US Lifesciences company Edwards Lifesciences to bring massive jobs boost to Mid-West
The company, which is focused on innovations for heart disease and critical care monitoring, plans to hire around 60 people in Ireland this year in various functions including production staff, engineering, and management.
Staff will initially work at a site located in the Shannon Free Zone, while the company builds a purpose-built manufacturing facility in the Mid-West.
Once the new facility, which is expected to be completed by 2020, is fully operational, the company expects to employ approximately 600 people.
“This is a very welcome regional investment and it is a fantastic endorsement of the talent and technical expertise of people living in the region that these types of highly-skilled roles can be filled here”
