Now I lay me down to sleep
I prayer the Lord my routine to keep
I’ve laid out their uniforms ready for school
Their swim bags are packed, ready for the pool
Lunches are prepared with the healthiest of food
They all want something different, depending on their mood
Hurls by the door, ready for the off
“Better leave out dry socks, he’s a bit of cough”!
Check on them sleeping, stand back and smile
Oh, how big they’ve gotten, in just a short while
Poor Teddy is filthy, oh my Gosh
What a perfect opportunity to throw him in the wash
Last but not least, set the alarm
Better set the phone too, sure it can do no harm
What could go wrong? I’ve it all planned out
“Famous last words, to come out of my mouth”
A challenge all children will surely accept
They can proof your routine, to be totally inept
Whatever is thrown at us, upsetting the plan
Carry on with finesse, like only a mother can!
