When you apply for a new job, you will usually be asked to submit a letter of application alongside a CV. Your CV will present a detailed working and personal history of you and your background, allowing for an initial screening of candidates by the recruiters within the organisation you are applying to.

It’s vital to consider what you put on your CV very carefully, since it will be a starting point when a recruiter is considering you, but you should also be aware of other factors that may feature in the selection process.
