Job Description

An Associate Manager - Supply Operations is required on a PERMANENT basis by CareerWise Recruitment for our Limerick-based multinational biotechnology client. The Associate Manager of Supply Operations manages all necessary batch disposition activities to ensure drug product and labelled drug product is available on time and in full. The successful candidate will ensure that appropriate relationship management interactions are in place with relevant stakeholders and are responsible for the efficient operation of the batch disposition forums and systems. Given the proximity of these product types to the patient/market, the successful candidate will require an ability to navigate through ambiguity, partner with internal and external groups to problem solve and drive the cross-functional team to have dispositioned product available to meet the business needs. This role requires a persistent individual who maintains a positive attitude and demonstrates a resilience to ensure success.

Role of this position

  • Provide leadership within the Supply Operations function and ensures alignment between the various Supply Chain subgroups
  • Negotiates and builds long lasting partnerships with Supply Chain partners, both internal and external to the organization
  • Work with cross functional teams to ensure timely disposition of all products produced by the organizations production operation and its contract manufacturing and partner sites
  • Monitors key milestones associated with the execution of batch disposition and effectively identifies and communicates potential risks to disposition timelines
  • Ensures effective, accurate and timely communication across functional areas and contract/partner sites, serving as a primary point of contact for the batch disposition process
  • Review current activities in batch disposition on a regular cadence for alignment across company sites
  • Identify and understand any misalignment, conduct any vital gap analysis and drive relevant actions to remove gaps
  • Develop tools and mechanisms for performance monitoring, management reporting and problem solving within batch disposition
  • Report out performance to management on a regular basis in multiple forums.
  • Works closely with staff to develop and develop individual goals and objectives and build organizational capability
  • Foster a balanced work environment where employees feel valued and respected
  • Note: The position may require domestic and international travel


  • Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Science
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in a GMP or similar environment
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing a team in a complex business environment
  • APICS or other related purchasing certifications a plus
  • Lean/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement knowledge desirable
