Job Description

A HR Generalist is required on an initial 9-Month basis by CareerWise Recruitment for our client; a Cork-based Food Company. This role will give the successful candidate immersion in the exciting and challenging environment of FMCG, Retail and Agri. Reporting to the HR Manager, the successful candidate will work as part of a small team and be exposed to the full employee lifecycle, such as recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, learning and development, employee engagement and employee well-being and will get the opportunity to make a real impact through continuous improvement projects across the business. Role of this position

  • Support the HR Manager on a variety of tasks and priority projects across the full employee lifecycle
  • Work on continuous improvement projects as required
  • Update, maintain and review company systems to ensure the data is fit for purpose and in compliance with GDPR
  • Develop, update and maintain a HR Dashboard and report regularly on HR metrics
  • Review and maintain employee filing systems including absence and leave records. Identify opportunities for improvement in line with best practice and GDPR
  • Co-ordinate and support recruitment, training and employee relations activities and maintain relevant documentation
  • Be a point of contact for employees on any HR related queries
  • Support the day-to-day implementation of the employee handbook, HR policies and procedures and company values
  • Develop, update, and maintain HR policies and procedures as necessary, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice
  • Assist the HR Manager with disciplinaries, grievances, investigations, probation management and performance reviews as they arise
  • Undertake administrative duties as required to support the HR Manager, including but not limited to, drafting letters, report creation, spreadsheet maintenance and tracker development
  • Identify opportunities to champion employee well-being and engagement
  • Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required by the HR Manager

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 3rd level Qualification in HR or related discipline
  • Exceptional communication and organisational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Can do attitude and natural self-starter
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems
  • Be comfortable and confident in the duties of the role
  • Adaptable, reliable and willing to take on a range of responsibilities
  • Good knowledge of Irish Employment Law
  • Own car essential to travel between company sites as required
