Procurement Manager

A Procurement Manager is needed by CareerWise Recruitment for our Cork based engineering client. Negotiation, selection and management of supply base for materials and services with a strong emphasis on mechanical commodities.

Role of this position

• Negotiate supplier and vendor contracts.

• Develop procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.

• Provide commercial leadership and market insight.

• Control the procurement budget and promote long-term procurement cost savings.

• Manage all suppliers of materials, consumables and services to the business.

• Provide cost and lead time information to the estimating and tendering process as required.

• Mix of strategic and hands-on procurement.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Degree qualified in Procurement / Supply Chain, Quantity Surveying or Engineering

• Proven experience managing supply chain operations.

• Five years previous Senior Buyer / Purchasing Manager experience.

• In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts / terms of purchase / invoicing.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.

• Experience in construction with materials procurement in a process mechanical discipline.

• Experience of sourcing piping and related fittings for industrial applications.
