Job Description

A Supply Chain Manager is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Cork based client. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding manufacturing operation supplying specialist containment products to the European pharma and Biotech sector. Role of this position

  • Evaluate local suppliers based on the price, quality, and speed of delivery of their products and services
  • Evaluate and monitor contracts to be sure that vendors and suppliers comply with the terms and conditions of the contract and to determine the need for changes
  • Design or modify processes, procedures, or policies to create efficiency within the supply chain environment, often working with team members within or outside of the supply chain department
  • Supervise team responsible for all production and material control activities including planning, scheduling, follow-up and reporting
  • Maintain material requirements and finite production planning parameters, effectively balancing inventory levels to optimise cost and service
  • Establish, maintain and improve business practices, procedures and documentation that ensure control of supplier releases, incoming material shipments, receiving documents, inventory levels, material storage and movement and shipments to the customer
  • Maintain and control all aspects of inventory life cycle for raw material and finished goods. This includes inventory accuracy and all transactions that impact inventory accuracy, cycle count program and obsolescence management
  • Responsible for optimisation and execution of all shipping and receiving functions
  • Represent the plant in new product development team and project work
  • Interact with customer service to ensure customer satisfaction

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, business or related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 years related industry experience;
  • Proven Ability to work effectively across different projects at the same time and to work across the organisation to execute project/process requirements
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and related software applications; order processing systems; project management software, manufacturing software and database software
  • Thorough knowledge of MRP, order handling, and inventory management concepts
  • Strong demonstrated leadership skills - highly motivated and able to work independently
