CareerWise Recruitment has come a long way to where it proudly stands today. Over the past few months CareerWise has seen huge growth in terms of both our head count and geographic reach. Part of this growth is due to the Accountancy & Finance sector which has grown from strength to strength over the past number of years. This sector along with IT is now one of the main areas cited for increased hiring with excellent opportunities for job seekers in Ireland.

As a result we needed competitive people working in this space for CareerWise and are absolutely delighted to welcome two of our new team members below. We would like to welcome Mark Brandon to our Galway office and Carmel Holmes to our Cork office. Carmel Holmes

Hi my name is Carmel Holmes. I have over 15 years’ experience in recruitment with expertise in the areas of IT & Finance. As a qualified accountant I have a passion for finance and later moved into a PM role where I deployed a number of BI systems in a large multinational. I enjoy assisting people find their dream job and guiding them on their career path.

I currently have multiple opportunities across Cork & Munster for Audit Seniors, Finance Analyst, Cost Accountant, Financial Accountant, PtP, OtC & Payroll. Within the IT sector have many opportunities for PM, BA, IT Operations Manager, Software Dev, IOS & Android Dev, Automation Engineer, Test Engineer, IT Support.

Mark Brandon

My name is Mark Brandon, I graduated from Athlone IT in 2005 with a Degree in Accounting and Finance. My background since then is in Accounting and Recruitment, and I choose to pursue a Career in Recruitment as it enables me to combine my interests in people and business.

I am delighted to join CareerWise Recruitment as it will help me broaden my expertise and presents the new challenges that I was looking for to help me further my career. I specialise in Accounting and Finance, and I have placed a large variety of roles from trainee Accountant to Finance Director.

I currently have multiple opportunities across Galway, Connacht & Dublin for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Controllers, Payroll, Finance Analyst, Cost Accountants, Financial accountants and Finance Managers.

Joe Robbins

(Director) BBS (Hons), MBPICS – Shannon Office

Joe Robbins is co-founder of CareerWise Recruitment. A graduate of the University of Limerick (Degree in Business Studies, 1985), Joe worked in the UK for five years where he specialised in materials management, production management and plant management for a number of companies.

He returned to Ireland in 1992 to become Operations Manager for a Cork-based start-up, FMC Automotive Division which was subsequently taken over by Snap-on Equipment. Joe managed the business re-location of this company to Shannon in 1997 before setting up CareerWise Recruitment in 1999.

He is a committee member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Mid-West region, and a former Director and Vice President of the Shannon Chamber of Commerce. Joe is former Chairperson of the Sixmilebridge Camogie Club and current Chairperson of the Clare County Camogie Board.
