Yelp to Create 100 New Jobs in Dublin

Yelp, which specialises in business reviews, will today announce the creation of over 100 new jobs in the capital.

The decision to base its European headquarters in Dublin was described as “landmark” by the company, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Expanding Yelp’s international operations with the opening of our new office in Dublin is a landmark moment in the company’s history. This new office will be home to our European operations and will be the engine behind our European revenue generation efforts,”

Jeremy Stoppelman, Co-founder and CEO at Yelp

The news will come as a boost to Taoiseach Enda Kenny, who has been forced to address a range of domestic issues during his three-day visit to the west coast of America.

Recruitment for the positions – which range from sales and finance to engineering – will begin immediately.

The Taoiseach said that attracting new companies to Ireland is a crucial part of the Government’s recovery plan.

“My visit here this week is all about cementing and reinforcing existing relationships as well as building new connections with a view to securing investment for Ireland

Enda Kenny, An Taoiseach

Also HP announced that it is to create 100 additional jobs

The jobs will be created in the cloud services area and will be filled next year following the completion of the new state-of-the-art facility.

Speaking at the HQ headquarters in San Alto, Mr Kenny said the office will be up in running by spring next year.

This is a vote of confidence in Ireland and Ireland’s young people, they (HP) are very happy with the quality of the candidates that they get”
