Job Description

SOFTWARE QUALITY ENGINEER required by CareerWise Recruitment for our multinational medical device client at their European Development Center at the University of Limerick. The SOFTWARE QUALITY ENGINEER will support, guide and educate Scrum teams and monitor projects to ensure that approved software development standards, processes and procedures are adhered to, as well as make recommendations on the adoption of industry best-practices.

Role of this position

  • Collaborate with teams to identify process improvements driving continuous improvement and efficiency and implementing change.
  • Assist with the implementation and rollout of the Quality Management System. Write, review, and approve quality documentation including SOPs and WIs.
  • Facilitate internal and external audits and manage corrective actions.
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, eliminating impediments, and providing metrics.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Quality/QMS requirements and application in a regulated environment.
  • Experience in a quality role within a Pharmaceutical / Medical Devices / GMP environment.
  • Deal with external regulators and multiple product portfolios.
  • Assess compliance and develop risk management strategies.
  • Identify compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation.
  • Disseminate written policies and procedures related to compliance activities.
  • Provide employee training on compliance related topics, policies, or procedures.
  • Monitor compliance systems to ensure their effectiveness.
  • Design or implement improvements in communication, monitoring, or enforcement of compliance standards.
  • Verify that regulatory policies and procedures have been documented, implemented, and communicated
  • Direct the development or implementation of compliance-related policies and procedures throughout the organization.
  • Review or modify policies or operating guidelines to comply with changes to standards or regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or other related discipline.
  • Experience working within a regulated environment within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industries.
  • Detailed understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and an understanding of Agile development methodologies.
  • BSc. or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work effectively with teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and a demonstrable bias toward action.
