Job Description

Lean Project Engineer required by CareerWise Recruitment for our multinational Aerospace client in Shannon, County Clare.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility to support all Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Support audits of the TPM/6S activities within the Company.
  • Support Engineering in driving process improvement
  • Drive and support the structured problem solving process (Kaizen, A3, 6 Sigma).
  • Support all NPI activities from a Lean perspective.
  • Challenge established thinking to drive performance improvement.
  • Support Standard Work and Set-up improvement activities and provide mentorship for responsible product engineers.
  • Planning, steering and monitoring of project activities (E.g. timelines, resources, budget & dependencies, etc.) including identification and mitigation of risks to progress.
  • KPI and status reporting at project and/or sub-project level - dates, milestones and delivery.
  • Establish an effective communications plan to ensure transparency of progress.
  • Liaise with Facilities, Maintenance, Production, and Engineering & Quality as required.
  • Support and drive all lean initiatives within the company - 6S/TPM, Standard work, set-up reductions, Value Stream mapping, etc.
  • Manage all projects under your responsibility to excellence level
  • Adhere to all standards, policies and procedures.

Education and requirements:
  • Degree /Masters in an engineering related discipline or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years' experience working in a similar role in a multinational environment.
  • Proven ability in the implementation of Lean/Six sigma methodologies and processes.
  • Experience of leading and motivating a team within a fast paced and continually evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated Planning and Project Management ability.
  • Ability to identify potential barriers to the success of a project.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the some or all of the following areas- Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen events, SMED, TPM, schedule management, visual communication techniques.
  • Ability to work closely with other functional departments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and barriers.
  • Diplomacy and negotiating ability.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement using leadership and motivational tools.
