Job Description

A Production Supervisor is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our NEW client based in Galway. The Production Supervisor Role is responsible for manging day to day activity within the Production area. The Production Supervisor must be a strong team player and will work closely with Engineering, Quality and Production Planner to optimise Production performance to manage overall Production output and meet Production KPI's. The Production Supervisor will manage production operators performance and will ensure adherence to Quality, Regulatory and GMP requirements within the Production area in accordance with Quality Standards and procedures. Role of this position

  • Provide supervision and leadership to a team of Production personnel in achieving production builds.
  • Support staff selection of new Production personnel and lead performance management and routine reviews for existing Production personnel.
  • Manage Time and Attendance and submit payroll reports for Production personnel.
  • Develops the Production team to maximize individual and team wide potential and highlights any training or specific development needs.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all training requirements for Production personnel are met and that all training records are fully up to date & filed.
  • Ensure adequate cross training on line in order to ensure holidays, absenteeism etc is covered & there is sufficient flexibility in the department.
  • Co-ordinate delivery of sales orders based on availability of uncommitted materials and Production personnel capacity including issuance of work order to the Production area and reviews of completed work orders.
  • Ensure coordination with Production / Engineering to execute Production Plan on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Ensure that all Production personnel achieve set output targets. Where targets are not been met working closely with Engineering, Quality and other department to take action and resolve, highlight or escalate the reason for the poor performance.
  • Manage resources to deliver on the production and shipping schedules.
  • Present production outputs at the daily huddle meeting.
  • Timely reporting of key business metrics for the Production area to Management.
  • Promotes compliance to customer requirements, quality and regulatory standards, and procedures.
  • Partners with Product Development team to ensure that the transition of products through R&D, product approval and manufacturing scale up are smooth, timely and cost effective.
  • Work closely with Production Planner to monitor actual output versus the Master Production Plan, identify gaps or opportunities for improvement and drive solutions working closely with Engineering, Quality and other departments.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • MINIMUM - Diploma level or equivalent industry, supervisory experience (Degree Preferred)
  • A proven track record in people management, with 3-5 years in Medical Device manufacturing / people management.
  • Experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiency measurements
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities.
  • A good team player, who works well in a small team environment, must be able to work effectively with peers in other Departments.
  • Proficient in Word / Excel applications.
